23. Worlds End 2024

Jon Moxley
AEW

Kazuchika Okada had his best night in AEW to date, as the Continental Classic took centre stage at Worlds End 2024. The decision to hold both the semi-final and final of the tournament was a masterstroke that paid off with a succession of great matches, with The Rainmaker ending the night retaining his Continental Championship as winner of the Continental Classic.

Okada defeated Ricochet in his semi-final, setting up a match later in the evening against Will Ospreay, who bested Kyle Fletcher in a high-octane bout. Okada and Ospreay would go trade finishers, with Ospreay even landing a Rainmaker on Okada, before the champion retained his title and confirmed himself as the best tournament wrestler in the world. This victory was interrupted by a returning Kenny Omega who arrived to congratulate his long-term adversary in a tense stare down.

Konosuke Takeshita and Powerhouse Hobbs brought the house down with a brutal back-and-forth that saw Takeshita retain the International Championship, Mercedes Mone retained the TBS title against Kris Statlander (with the challenger receiving a standing ovation for her effort), and Jon Moxley ended the night continuing his reign as AEW champion by winning a Fatal Four-Way, only to be faced with a returning Adam Copeland.
