A nod to the immortal ‘80s/’90s tag belts, the current WWE Tag Team titles are not quite as beautiful. The main plate shape is broadly the same. The engraved gryphons facing inwards on either side of the muted WWE logo are subtle enough. The use of blue, while sleek and infinitely less appalling than the colour-coding of the last set of belts promoted under Vince McMahon, is still perplexing: wasn’t the point of the rebrand to get away from über-corporate, brand-specific designs?

That nitpicking aside, the primary side plates undermine the design, because they are unreasonably, distractingly massive.

What is it with wrestling and the constant need to do a little too much?
