In just the second-ever Takeover main event, four men who defined early-day NXT set the standard for all future Takeovers. In the words of Byron Saxton – “You knew these four men would give everything they had, and they did not disappoint.".

Every single participant went all out to wow all of the fresh eyes on the product who were new to the WWE Network. Kidd completed his career renaissance with his grizzled veteran heel tactics. Breeze was even more despicable, picking and choosing his moments to perfection, sneaking pinfall attempts and growing ever more frustrated with every late kick out. Neville was a prideful as ever champion, until the final stages where he displayed his first hint at a heel turn with the most dramatic near fall, you’ll ever see when he pulled the ref out of the ring. Zayn in particular looked like a million bucks, oozing babyface fire, with his final minutes’ comeback being enough to convince even the biggest sceptic that he was walking out as champion.

There is no wonder why this match alone gained NXT thousands of new fans. Truly a tone-setter if there ever were one.
