Finn Bálor and his Demon unfortunately spent almost an entire year on the sidelines following his shoulder injury during 2016's SummerSlam. What should have been his coronation as the first-ever Universal Champion was derailed. But upon his return to RAW in April 2017, Bálor was confronted by his most frightful adversary yet.

The so-called Eater of Worlds began tormenting Finn almost immediately, and the supernatural forces of Bray Wyatt and Finn’s Demon King finally met at that year's SummerSlam. To combat the powers of Wyatt's Sister Abigail, Bálor cultivated a more ferocious and razor-edged take on the traditional Demon warpaint.

The traditional fangs were larger and sharper than before and featured an even more prominent tongue cascading down the middle of Finn’s torso. The entire design was encased by pointed black spikes and a smaller but equally menacing mouth was affixed to Bálor's back. It was a minor tweak on the Demon King’s typical appearance, but it was enough of a change to render it another unique expression of the vicious alter ego. It also proved enough for the Demon to overcome Bray Wyatt's own sinister persona.
