Every WCW Heavyweight Champion: Where Are They Now?
15. Randy Savage
Randy Savage's time in WCW was a strange one, highlighted by some memorable World Championship wins, but also hampered by much of the bizarre booking going on in the promotion, particularly in the later years. His signing, not long after Hulk Hogan, was another huge coup for their battle with the WWF at the time, but it just felt like they never used Savage quite right.
Despite being a four-time WCW Champion, his multiple runs with the belt only totalled a measly 53 days. He had the 4th most reigns, but sat 16th (out of 22) for combined time with the gold.
After his WCW exit, he spent a few years away from wrestling, picking up some acting gigs in TV and on the big screen. He also released a rap album titled 'Be A Man' aimed at Hogan after years of beef between the two. He eventually stepped back in the ring in 2004 and 2005 in a sad run with TNA, mostly involving him throwing some punches in multi-man matches.
He would tragically pass away in 2011 at the age of 58 after suffering a heart attack while driving his car. He was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2015.
