How He Won It: Punk is actually the only two-time Money in the Bank winner in history, accomplishing the feat at back-to-back WrestleManias (XXIV and XXV).

The first time he won it, the result was well-received. Indeed, fans had wanted to see Punk break through and felt like this was his moment, certainly more so than Chris Jericho, Shelton Benjamin, John Morrison, MVP, Mr. Kennedy or Carlito.

A year later, his win wasn't so universally accepted. There was a notable smattering of boos as Punk bested MVP, Christian, Mark Henry, Kane, Benjamin, Finlay and Kofi Kingston. Perhaps it was because, by April 2009, fans were a little bit sick and tired of clean-cut babyface Punk and wanted to see something different...

What He Did With It: The Straight-Edge Superstar first cashed-in on his Rated-R counterpart on the May 21, 2008 episode of Raw. He secured the World Heavyweight Title, his first in WWE, following a teeth-rattling GTS. This run would be somewhat uninspired, however, with Punk dropping the belt a few months later at Unforgiven in a match that he wasn't even involved in (thanks to a Legacy attack).

His next cash-in and reign would prove to be much more successful. Punk defeated Jeff Hardy at Extreme Rules 2009, after the Charismatic Enigma had saw off Edge in a draining ladder match.

Effect On Career: Huge! More for the second cash-in, which was the beginning of Punk's wonderful heel turn. He'd go on to accomplish greater things, eclipsing the consecutive MITB wins, but it was the first signs that WWE were at least semi-serious about pushing him as a major player.
