8. Kane

How He Won It: Kane won the opener of the first Money in the Bank pay-per-view, where there were Raw and Smackdown MITB ladder matches. Kane outlasted Big Show, Matt Hardy, Christian, Kofi Kingston, Drew McIntyre, Dolph Ziggler and Cody Rhodes in a decent match.

What He Did With it: Well, he certainly didn't hang about. The Big Red Machine actually cashed-in his guaranteed World Heavyweight Championship that night, after Rey Mysterio had retained it against Jack Swagger. A chokeslam and Tombstone piledriver later and Kane was the new champ.

Effect On Career: Winning the World Heavyweight Title certainly gave Kane more direction. He actually enjoyed a lengthy run with the belt, holding it from July until December's TLC, seeing off the challenges of Undertaker and Edge along the way. At this point in his career, though, as he was pretty much bulletproof.

Still, an outside bet as a MITB winner and a worthy one, after a few failed attempts in the past. Kane certainly wasn't the worst MITB winner and it was nice to see WWE have someone win the title the same night that they won the briefcase for a change.
