Every WWE Release Of 2021 - Where Are They Now? (Five Years Later)

Then: There were almost 2 full years between Kavita Devi's last WWE match and her release. That's astonishing. She last worked alongside Jessi Kamea (more on her to come) vs. Deonna Purrazzo and Rachel Evers on an NXT house show in July 2019. Then, it took until 19 May 2021 for Devi to get her release papers.

So, what was the hold up? Not many actually know, but at least Kavita can point to a WrestleMania moment. Sort of. She was part of the Women's Battle Royal during the 'Mania 34 Kickoff show in 2018. That'd prove to be her biggest bout whilst under contract.

It all just seemed to go wrong for Devi after that, for whatever reason.

Now: News has went quiet for Kavita since her WWE release, at least on the wrestling front. She hasn't worked another match elsewhere, but there was some chatter about a possible documentary charting her journey from India to the biggest promotion in the world.

The Great Khali would've played a part in that, because he's someone Devi has publicly thanked for helping her reach WWE in the first place. She started her wrestling career working for his promotion back in India, after all, and that put her on WWE's radar just a year or so into her training.

Wrestling isn't for everybody. Understatement of the year, but it's worth saying on this occasion. Perhaps that was the case with Kavita. Maybe she just didn't go all in on WWE life. Presumably, management didn't think she was ready for bigger and better things regardless.
