Then: It seemed like Mark Henry would be a WWE lifer back in 2021, but the promotion let him slip out the exit doors that January. Before leaving, the one time 'Sexual Chocolate' had been working mainly as a mentor, ambassador and talent scout for the organisation. Indeed, he's largely credited for finding top stars like Bianca Belair and convincing her to give wrestling a shot.

Henry's final WWE appearance came on the 4 January Raw. That was dubbed "Legends Night", but all Mark really did was take a verbal kicking from Randy Orton whilst camped out on a mobility scooter. For context, he was rehabbing an injury at the time. In truth though, the ex-Olympian hadn't worked a lick in-ring since taking part in the crummy 50-man Greatest Royal Rumble over in Saudi Arabia in April 2018.

WWE didn't have much left for him to do, so they cut Mark loose.

Now: A lot was made of Henry signing with AEW in May 2021. He debuted at Double Or Nothing, and fans wondered whether or not Mark would actually be wrestling for the group. In a word, no. He did some commentary, but became more of a backstage interviewer than anything else.

Henry departed All Elite when his deal expired in May 2024, and he's since inked a legends deal with old stomping grounds WWE. That isn't a televised role though. He's on hand for appearances when needed, but makes towns for fan signings, personal appearances etc.

It'd be a huge shock if Mark even wrestled again. Why would he need to?
