Every WWE Release Of 2021 - Where Are They Now? (Five Years Later)

25. Lince Dorado

Then: The whole Lucha House Party thing led by Kalisto and featuring both Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado never properly got going. It didn't strike a chord with fans, partly because WWE never went all in on it after introducing the trio in 2018. They were just presented as 3 high-flying lucha workers who could have watchable matches.

That was never going to be enough in a promotion that favours storytelling, big characters and stuff like that. Therefore, by 2021, Dorado was wrestling Retribution goofs on episodes of Main Event before being released from his contract in November.

Now: Lince went from WWE to MLW, New Japan and AEW/ROH, but he found a spot back in his old stomping grounds by signing on become a Performance Center trainer in early-2025. That news followed a match he had vs. Josh Black on an NXT house show that January.

Dorado has split his seminars at the PC with bouts on further NXT live events and in other promotions like AAA or EVOLVE. Both of those are WWE affiliates, so it makes sense to use him that way. Lince probs wishes that option had been open to him years ago under Vince McMahon!

The masked man remains pretty secretive about his personal life, which is fair enough. All people really need to know about him is that he's a solid hand who has a lot of knowledge to give younger trainees at the Performance Center. At the same time, Dorado is still fully capable of putting on a show in-ring.
