Former WWE backstage interviewer and colour commentator Jonathan Coachman has been announced as part of the commentary team for WES.

The official Wrestling Entertainment Series Twitter page posted a graphic that showed Coach flashing a smile. That post was captioned: "WES welcomes @TheCoachRules to the commentary team!". This will be Coachman's first wrestling gig since he last appeared behind the desk on Raw back in 2018.

Fellow WWE alumni Matthew Rehwoldt (Aiden English) will join Coach on the call for WES' debut show on 4 June. That event, headlined by Adam Scherr (Braun Strowman) vs. Alistair Overeem, will air live via FITE TV.

Coachman worked several stints as part of WWE's broadcast team; he joined in 1999, then left to land a dream job as sports anchor on ESPN. Coach would eventually return to the fold in 2016, but his final few runs with the company weren't anywhere near as memorable as his first.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of chemistry Coach and Rehwoldt strike up. Announcing a brand new promotion, one without any real storylines to speak of, won't be too simple for the pair.
