You can go right ahead and skip next Sunday's Elimination Chamber, because WrestleMania 36's Universal Championship match just got confirmed on SmackDown.

Whilst it was widely expected Roman Reigns would prevail in the eponymous structure at the forthcoming pay-per-view, earning himself a shot at the newly crowned Goldberg come April, WWE last night decided to knock all that farting on on the head, as we saw 'The Big Dog' lay down the gauntlet immediately.

Goldberg, who destroyed The Fiend to take home the big blue belt at this Thursday's Super ShowDown, opened last night's SmackDown - largely to boos, it should be added - only to be interrupted by Reigns' music. The two had a brief staredown, before the intruder told Big Bill, "I'm next."

WWE have since confirmed that the two masters of the spear will now collide at WrestleMania 36 in Tampa, FL come 5 April.

Though Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Center had advertised a men's Elimination Chamber match to decide the Universal Championship contender, WWE themselves never made it official. It's currently unknown whether a men's chamber contest will now take place next Sunday.

WrestleMania 36 now has five matches confirmed. John Cena vs. The Fiend was also added to the event on last night's episode of the blue brand.

He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
