GUNTHER explained his absence from WWE television during a sit-down with the Gorilla Position podcast. The reigning King Of The Ring's reason won't come as a surprise to some fans, but it does illustrate the patient style of booking Triple H often favours.

The Imperium leader told fans that he's been off TV because "there wasn’t much need for me to be heavily involved before Money In The Bank". GUNTHER is a fan of the "less is more" approach, and he was only too happy to fade into the background temporarily so WWE creative could focus on MITB before getting stuck into prep for SummerSlam.

There, GUNTHER challenges Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Title. That match was pretty much set in stone after his tournament win over in Saudi Arabia this past May. According to the record-setting ex-Intercontinental Champ, he had the "luxury" of putting his feet up and looking on.

It's hard to argue with that, but it will be interesting to see how Trips and his writers handle what's effectively a heel vs. heel title bout at SummerSlam.
