Instant classic Triple Threat war goes the way of the Ring General.

Gunther is still the WWE Intercontinental Champion.

The Imperium leader retained his gold against rivals-turned-friends-turned-rivals-turned-friends-turned-rivals Drew McIntyre and Sheamus after powerbombing Sheamus on to Drew before finishing 'The Scottish Warrior' with another.

It concluded an incredible encounter that was instantly being discussed as one of the greatest matches in WrestleMania history. All three men waged a vicious and attritional war, battering one another with eye-watering strikes and killer blows and throws. At various points, both challengers had the title won, only to cost each other or find their pin attempt broken up by Gunther himself.

With the victory, Gunther continues his longstanding run with the secondary strap having defeated Ricochet on June 10th 2022 edition of SmackDown. He’s the third longest-reigning Champion at 292 days, behind Randy Savage on 414 and The Honky Tonk Man on 454.

The three behemoths collided earlier this year in the Royal Rumble, foreshadowing the match itself on the ‘Show Of Shows’. The contest was one of the most anticipated of the weekend, highlighting how successful both promotion and performer have been in rehabilitating the Championship over the last year.
