Here's When WWE's Released Wrestlers Can Sign For Other Promotions
Let's go through when all those WWE non-compete clauses expire...
A total of 18 new WWE releases were announced on Thursday, meaning the promotion has now let go of 71 wrestlers (and untold numbers of backstage staff members) in this year of mass cuts.
As these wrestlers' contracts have been terminated early, rather than allowed to expire after their agreed term, those let go are now bound to a non-compete clause of 30 or 90 days that is largely dependent on their position in the company.
Main roster contracts typically come bundled with a 90-day non-compete clause. Anyone in this category will therefore be available to sign with or appear for other wrestling promotions from 2 February 2022 if they were let go yesterday.
Those bound to a 30-day non-compete, meanwhile, will be good to go from 4 December 2021.
Non-compete lengths aren't universal, however. Oney Lorcan, who has never wrestled on the main roster, confirmed yesterday that his is 90 days. He was more tenured than any of the other NXT releases, having debuted for NXT in 2015.
