How The Fiend Could Affect These 8 WWE Superstars

3. Sami Zayn

It's criminal just how little in-ring action Sami Zayn has faced over the past several months.

Granted, Sami has done a phenomenal job as Shinsuke Nakamura's hype man, but it's awful to see how one of the best in-ring performers in the world now spends the vast majority of his time watching the action play out from ringside.

Should Zayn find himself somehow in the crosshairs of the Fiend, that could be the perfect way to give Sami a kick in the right direction. And that direction, could and should be a return to his masked El Generico persona.

Having spent the first 11 years of his career wrestling as the beloved El Generico, the Canadian was unmasked as soon as he arrived through the NXT door in 2013. That initial run as the heart of NXT saw Sami become one of the most popular acts in the WWE, period.

As mentioned, the problem right now is that Zayn simply isn't being utilised in an in-ring capacity as much as he should be. Once the former NXT Champion runs afoul of Bray Wyatt, that would not only give Sami Zayn a reason to once again become a fully active in-ring worker, but it would give him a reason to revert to his erratic and eccentric El Generico shtick.
