HUGE Update On Daniel Bryan's WWE Status

Yes! Yes! Yes!

Forgive the coarseness, but thank f*ck for that: Daniel Bryan has been medically cleared to compete following an injury that remains undisclosed.

It was reported in the immediate aftermath of WrestleMania 35 that Bryan had suffered an injury during his emotive classic against Kofi Kingston. This report immediately triggered widespread anxiety, owing to Bryan's grim history with neck and concussion issues - and WWE's very tentative and strict approach to a return that in itself was so improbable.

Many nervous fans rewatched that match, looking for cues, with several amateur neurologists retiring Bryan on Reddit citing Kofi Kingston's full-on head stamps and Bryan's glass-eyed selling of them. Well, it turns out that Bryan is simply the greatest pro wrestler alive, and he will per Dave Meltzer's report return to action "perhaps as soon as next week".

This, of course, is incredible news: Bryan restored the Beast Incarnate at Survivor Series, elevated Ali as an immediate midcard highlight, and acted as the perfect super-working foil behind Kofi Kingston's own improbable ascent, which, and this may show a slight bias, may not have happened without his immense in-ring acumen.

Daniel Bryan makes things better.

A sad addendum to all this is that Kevin Owens likely only turned heel as a result of this development, scuppering one of few WWE talents boasting the organic wit and credibility to star as a babyface.
