Right?

There's no way Christian Cage can remain the World Champion after Bound For Glory. He's been a fine champion with a couple of entertaining matches under his belt in this IMPACT run, but by the match's end, it's Josh Alexander who must be crowned as the new kingpin of IMPACT Wrestling.

His whole run throughout 2021 has been impeccable. From the surprisingly entertaining Hard To Kill pre-show vs. Brian Myers to the X Division Title victory at Rebellion to the numerous bangers with Chris Sabin, Black Taurus, and Jake Something, the Josh Alexander we now know far surpasses any expectations he had to succeed once Ethan Page left for AEW.

As the IMPACT World Champion, there's a legitimate chance that Josh Alexander could become a household name throughout North American wrestling. He's already nearing that position with his 2021 CV alone. As the undeniable face of the promotion, he'd be taken to new heights that he himself said people never thought he'd be capable of achieving.

It's the only Bound For Glory match where the outcome has to go one way. There's no situation that calls for a Christian Cage title retention. Expect to see the Josh Alexander #AndNew graphic hitting Twitter on Sunday morning.
