With it having been confirmed that Eddie Kingston unfortunately suffered a torn ACL and meniscus at NJPW Resurgence earlier this month, there's now an update on when the Mad King will undergo surgery.

As per PWInsider, Kingston will be going under the knife on the 8 July. Prior to that, Eddie has to wait for a fracture in his leg to heal and he'll also have to do some physical therapy before an operation can take place.

In terms of a timeframe, the New Yorker told PWInsider that he expects to be out of action for ten months once surgery happens. That would tentatively put Kingston's return to the ring somewhere around May 2025. Previously, it was hoped that Eddie would be cleared in time for All In this August, but it was soon detailed how the 42-year-old's injury was worse than initially feared.

The injury itself occurred as Eddie Kingston lost the NJPW Strong Openweight Championship to Gabe Kidd at Resurgence, with the specific spot being when Eddie was suplexed onto a table bridge on the ringside barricade. There, Kingston's leg hit the barricade, causing a leg break in addition to the ACL and meniscus tears.

Best wishes from all of us at WhatCulture Wrestling to Eddie Kingston on his surgery and road to recovery.
