WWE has confirmed John Cena for this coming Friday's episode of SmackDown.

Cena returned at Money In The Bank to tease a showdown with current Universal Champ Roman Reigns. Then, on Monday's Raw, John opened the night by announcing his intentions to challenge Reigns for the belt at SummerSlam on 21 August.

Then, JC said he'd be on the blue brand later this week.

That's when WWE will continue ploughing towards a tasty one-on-one match between both men. Meanwhile, Edge will be cycled out of the 'World Title' scene and into a feud with Seth Rollins after losing his own one-on-one crack at Roman this past Sunday.

Edge vs. Rollins should be special as well.

This is (by far) the biggest opponent Reigns has faced since becoming Universal Champ last summer. He's had matches with everyone from Jey Uso and Drew McIntyre to Cesaro and Edge, but Cena feels like he's on another level right now.

That pop he got at MITB was insane - it might be one of the biggest in promotional history, and it suggests that WWE were wise to bring Cena back in time for SummerSlam.
