Kurt Angle Says AEW Will Always Be A "Number Two" Company

"Be happy with number two".

WWE legend Kurt Angle told Wrestling Inc's Daily Podcast that AEW will always lag behind his former employer as number two.

Angle said he's a big fan of AEW's product (specifically noting how much fun he has watching Chris Jericho and Cody Rhodes on Wednesday nights), but doesn't expect Tony Khan's promotion to ever pip Vince McMahon's juggernaut. In fact, Kurt thinks All Elite should "be happy with number two".

The Olympian didn't mince his words when discussing AEW's chances of someday becoming the biggest wrestling company around. He said it'll "never" happen, and cited the long-term failures of both WCW and TNA as evidence of how good McMahon is at staving off competition.

Angle noted that he's not saying anything controversial - it's up to Khan, his roster and the wrestling fanbase to prove him wrong. Until they do, he'll have his doubts over AEW's chances of topping WWE.

Kurt also rubbished any claims that he could someday work for AEW or even wrestle a match again, but recently refused to rule out a shocking jump from WWE to All Elite for Brock Lesnar.

He is, however, ruling out the chances of AEW becoming number one.
