Latest Backstage Update On CM Punk Potentially Returning At WWE Survivor Series 2023
Could 'The Best in the World' be about to show up at WWE Survivor Series 2023 in Chicago?
There is currently no evidence CM Punk will be showing up at tonight's Survivor Series PLE.
As Dave Meltzer writes in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, on top of there being no real sign that 'The Best in the World' is set for a monumental WWE comeback at the Chicago show, the people close to this situation have also completely denied the return is happening.
However, Meltzer was also quick to add that this could all just be a "well-kept secret" heading into the WarGames event, and that, since the beginning of all this Punk to WWE talk, he was told that WWE haven't been completely against the idea of a Punk return "if the idea is it’s something they have to do in regard to fan response."
But those keeping their fingers crossed that the Punker's shocking return to sports entertainment is just a moment those higher up are keeping under wraps currently will likely be disappointed to also learn that top talent have been informed Punk definitely isn't coming in after asking, according to Fightful Select.
Top talent were outright told that CM Punk wasn't coming in for #SurvivorSeries when they asked.

And with these specific stars being in the sort of positions where lying to them wouldn't exactly be a smart move when it comes to maintaining a happy locker room, it does seem like the chances of a Punk appearance at the incoming PLE have just been shrunk even more than they were before this weekend came around.
Along with this, key members of the creative process have reportedly been informed Punk won't be arriving and there are no creative plans for him at this time. But it was also said that Punk himself had explained to a someone he was close to that he had actually been in contact with a higher-up within WWE recently, though the context of that particular conversation wasn't revealed.
Again, as Meltzer explained, this could all just be a ridiculously well kept secret, or a case of fans simply getting a little too carried away with a rumour. Either way, all will no doubt be revealed in just a few hours...
