Latest On Brock Lesnar's Reported WWE "Blade Job" At MSG
Did Brock Lesnar reach for the blade inside Madison Square Garden, or was blood WWE's plan?

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Brock Lesnar didn't work in a blade job during WWE's newsworthy house show at Madison Square Garden on 5 March.
According to Dave Meltzer's sources within the company, Brock was busted wide open by the ring steps during the fiery angle with Roman Reigns. However, curiously, Meltzer did say that WWE planned for Lesnar to get some colour all along.
He got it hardway though - Brock didn't reach for the blade and slice his forehead.
That's strictly against WWE policy these days, but it is rather interesting that they reportedly wanted blood in the segment beforehand. Presumably, the company trusted Lesnar enough to take a hammering from the steps and make it look good.
It certainly did. The man's face was streaming with blood, and WWE got a ton of mileage out of footage on TV afterwards.
Side note: Brock vs. Austin Theory (which lasted just 1:35) is now the fourth shortest main event in MSG history. Only Bruno Sammartino vs. Buddy Rogers (1963; 48 seconds), Bob Backlund vs. George Steele (1983; 39 seconds) and Backlund vs. Diesel (1994; 9 seconds) were shorter.
