Major Free Agent To Be At Tonight's WWE Raw

Multiple-time World Champion Nick Aldis is set to be at tonight's WWE Raw.
Via PWInsider.com, Aldis is in Minneapolis ahead of WWE's Monday night flagship taking place from the city's Target Center.
This report notes how Aldis is at Raw to be looked at for a producer role with the company. The plan is for the National Treasure to be at several upcoming TV tapings to operate in that role.
While many have been clamouring for WWE to finally sign Nick Aldis as an in-ring talent, recent rumours suggested the market leader was instead interested in potentially using the 36-year-old as a producer. Now, it looks like such rumours have indeed proved to be correct.
Aldis recently wrapped up his latest spell with IMPACT Wrestling, losing to IMPACT World Champion Alex Shelley in the main event of Slammiversary last month, before then losing to Eric Young at the next set of TV tapings.
The Englishman first came to prominence in the pro wrestling world under his Magnus moniker in the then-TNA from 2008 through until 2015. That first run with the promotion saw him eventually become the TNA World Champion, and he'd likewise become the inaugural World Champion of the short-lived Global Force Wrestling.
2017 saw Aldis really come into his own upon landing under the banner of Billy Corgan's National Wrestling Alliance. With the NWA experiencing a resurgence in popularity across the following few years, it was the Norfolk native leading the charge at the top of the card, bringing plentiful prestige to the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship in two reigns which totalled an impressive 1,309 days.
Aldis formally departed the NWA at the end of last year, citing unhappiness - sadly, like so many fans - with the creative direction Corgan has opted to take the organisation. The hugely talented star would land back in IMPACT this April, in what was reported to always be a short spell with the Anthem promotion.
A smooth in-ring worker with great presence and great talking ability, Nick Aldis would be a welcome talent on any roster. As it stands though, it appears WWE currently views the Brit as being more valuable outside of the ring than in it.
