The GM may have spoken too soon.

Earlier today Raw General Manager Mick Foley made headlines when he broke the news via his Facebook page that the Hell in a Cell match between Charlotte and Sasha Banks for the women's championship would serve as the main event of the show.

Many fans were thrilled for the two hard-working wrestlers and felt that an opportunity like this was long overdue. But wait. Not so fast.

Since making the initial post, Foley has since gone back and added an update, stating that he's not sure of the exact match order of the card:

"I have no idea which match will go on last, or which match will go down in history as being the official main event. The Universal Championship match between Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins is shaping up to be something special, and I am sure both men will be doing their best to steal the show – which is as it should be. In the end, the main event is whatever each fan decides it is.

The match order for HIAC Will probably not be finalized until hours before the actual show, so each member of the WWE Universe can decide for themselves what their main event is. Regardless of where the women's match is placed on the card, both Sasha and Charlotte should absolutely feel like they are the main event - as should Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins. It's a competitive business, and that competitive spirit should bring out the best in everyone on October 30th."

It's unclear if Mick was speaking out of turn and simply made a mistake and is now forced to dial it back or if there's something else at play here. It's entirely possible that Foley - a longtime proponent of pushing the women - made the original comment as a means of putting pressure on WWE to put the ladies on last.

Then again, with WWE plans are constantly changing and something such as match order obviously remains fluid, especially if you take the recent No Mercy card into consideration where the WWE world heavyweight championship triple threat opened the show.

Looks like we'll just have to wait until October 30th to find out if the ladies will truly get their chance to close the show.
