NJPW G1 Climax 2019 Night 10 (July 28) - B BLOCK: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best

1. Juice Robinson Vs. Tomohiro Ishii

Jon Moxley Tetsuya Naito
NJPW

A phenomenal fight that existed under the looming shadow of both men’s brawls with Jon Moxley (as well as one still to come, in Juice Robinson’s case), this attritional war between two of New Japan’s hardest hitters served as the final elevation of the former United States Champion into a stable of reliable sh*tkickers headed up by the ‘Stone Pitbull’.

A masterclass in delayed selling from Tomohiro Ishii yet again, Tomohiro Ishii’s grit and determination ascended for the good of his opponent’s own trajectory as Robinson was forced to beat the NEVER Champion down and down and down again until he finally appeared out. Ishii took flight in an act of wild desperation yet again, having done the same in defeat against Moxley a week earlier, and repeatedly countered out of the Pulp Friction until toppling nearly 18 minutes of his rival’s resistance in a spectacular conclusion.

Juice has had a good G1 thus far, but was in need of a genuine banger to vindicate his hard graft thus far. Ishii - as he almost always is - was the man to supply the goods.
