NXT: 10 Worst Creative Decisions Of The Full Sail Era

5. Sasha Banks' Secret Admirer

Here's something we don't see enough of in wrestling: romance angles!

Back before the NXT women's division was awesome, Sasha Banks was just a generic babyface jobber. While Paige, Emma and Summer Rae were kickstarting the division, the future Boss of NXT really had nothing going for her.

She was finally given something to do when she started receiving letters from a "Secret Admirer". Of course this being WWE, the story was not going to end well for Banks. The secret admirer was revealed in a backstage segment to be heel Diva Audrey Marie (they couldn't even be bothered shooting it in the ring).

Before you get too excited, Marie was not actually an admirer of Banks, but just a heel looking to take her spot by blindsiding her. The busty Texan had talent in the ring, but apparently not the physique required to be Diva. She was already released by the time the pre-taped segment aired.

Aside from making their female wrestlers look like naive high school girls, the story was too familiar. Over on Raw, WWE had just done a similar angle with Kaitlyn, whose Secret Admirer turned out to be a set up by heel rival AJ Lee. Perhaps if Paige ever receives anonymous flowers, she should definitely watch her back.

As a wrestling fan I've flown across the Atlantic for the last five years specifically to attend WrestleMania (28 and 30) as well as TNA, ROH, Evolve, Chikara and most recently PWG. I may have a problem! But if you're reading my work then you probably love wrestling too, so lets focus on that!
