Predicting The 16 Teams In The 2017 NXT Dusty Rhodes Tag Classic (And How Far They Will Go)

5. The Street Profits

Speaking of individuals who spent years in developmental before finding their niche in a tag team, Angelo Dawkins may well be the dictionary definition. Dawkins has been a member of the developmental roster for nearly five years, and has never seemed close to establishing himself on NXT TV.

The arrival of Montez Ford seems to have changed that. The two came together as The Street Profits in late 2016, and have since made their vignette-assisted debut on NXT TV. The duo are still a little bit unpolished in between the ropes, but their energy and charisma has already helped them to stand out.

The 2017 Dusty Classic could be something of a coming out party for the The Street Profits. They are unlikely to win the whole thing, but they could well be considered dark horses to make a bit of a run into the competition. They will get to the quarter finals at the very least.

Prediction: Quarter Finals

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
