8. Bryan Danielson

…a 60 minute time limit draw against the American Dragon which is in contention for the best AEW match to date. The two went full throttle for an hour, and the fact that there wasn’t a winner at the end of it didn’t damage enjoyment at all - it merely hammered home the point that these are two of the best in the business.

Danielson has only occasionally shown interest in the title so far in AEW, but his excellence as a wrestler has never been in doubt, particularly with William Regal singing his praises so frequently. While the Blackpool Combat Club has been a blast, the total chaos of Anarchy in the Arena should be the exception for a grappler with Danielson’s grace and technique.

From his colleagues’ reports, Danielson spends his spare time training up the next generation of AEW talent - while he doesn’t need the belt, he absolutely deserves it, and we’ve seen before how thrilling his title chases can be.

Finally putting down Omega would reinforce the notion that no one can out-wrestle Bryan Danielson.
