Predicting The Next Holder Of Every Active WWE Championship

8. WWE Intercontinental Championship

Currently held by: GUNTHER.

After a disastrous few years for WWE's original workhorse championship, the prestige brought back to the Intercontinental Championship throughout the reign of GUNTHER has been truly respectable. It'd be wise of Triple H to uphold his position as the champion for as long as possible; when the time comes for him to drop the gold, he should ideally do so without being pinned or submitted in a multi-man fray.

Predicted next champion: Sheamus.

Cast your mind back to Clash at the Castle. A rabid Welsh crowd turned GUNTHER vs. Sheamus, already a perfect match on paper, into what was undisputedly the best match of the weekend. Though Sheamus came up short and thus failed in his quest to complete his title cabinet of active WWE championships, WWE all but forecast the end story of GUNTHER's reign.

Outside of a surprise - and, truthfully, sudden - Ilja Dragunov main roster call-up, no one else can dethrone the former WALTER but the 'Celtic Warrior'.

Not only for the feel-good nature of Sheamus completing his title-collecting mission, but the resultant victory in Sheamus' favour would be a poignant piece of fan-service booking not often found when harking back to the dystopian days of Vince McMahon's WWE.
