Unlike the vast majority of current champions on this list, Roxanne Perez isn't nearing the end of a lengthy title run. She's only just won the NXT Women's Championship from brand alum Mandy Rose in the ex-Toxic Attraction leader's final stint under WWE contract, ending her dominant year-long stand over the NXT women's division.
Predicted next champion: Cora Jade.
NXT isn't what it once was - but it remains a consistently solid product.
One of the shining lights of this new NXT has been the partnership and subsequent rivalry between Perez and Cora Jade. Friends-turned-rivals angles are so easy to execute but similarly so easy to get wrong; for Perez and Jade, WWE hit the nail on the head, delivering what was ultimately one of the brand's greatest feuds of 2022.
While their beef is on hold for the time being as the former Rok-C navigates life as NXT Women's Champion, it's almost certain that WWE will revisit their storied history. This one needs time to play out to get it right. WWE shouldn't imemdiately jump back into the story. Coming back to it either in time for or after the presumed WrestleMania weekend Network/Peacock special will suffice before Jade is crowned the new representative of a rejuvenated division.
