Predicting WWE WrestleMania 38 Nights 1 & 2 Cards
6. Shotzi & Xia Li Vs. Asuka & Toni Storm Vs. Carmella & Alexa Bliss Vs. Mia Yim & Tegan Nox (Women’s Tag Team Championship)
Your writer will admit that just throwing as many people into the ring as you can in order to get a large chunk of the company's current roster onto this monumental PPV does start to feel a little lazy before 'Mania has reached its end. In fairness to last year's show, WWE managed to steer clear of cramming too many clogged up bouts onto the two nights of damp chaos. But, assuming that we don't get another odd WrestleMania SmackDown this year, a 'Mania 38 without its fair share of overloaded showdowns would leave just too many brilliant performers watching on.
So, with that in mind, let's jump to the Women's Tag Team division... or at least, what could be a Women's tag division if WWE pull their f**king finger out. As of writing, outside of the champs themselves, Rhea Ripley & Nikki Cross, it's a near-impossible task to put your finger on a single unit that are just that: a unit. With WWE breaking up tag teams for the bants during the Draft, a blank canvas of sorts has been afforded to us coming into the Show of Shows.
Why not throw recent NXT call-ups Shotzi and Xia Li together to bust some heads? Toni Storm could do worse than sit under The Empress of Tomorrow's learning tree during 'Mania season (Asuka is a free agent, but a blue brand switch-up could beef up said show). Carmella and a Lilly-less Alexa Bliss could make for a detestable duo. And Mia Yim and Tegan Nox both would, like Shotzi, Li and Storm, benefit from some 'Mania experience.
The talent involved could instantly elevate this to much more than a dreaded "beer break" segment, so let these masterful women do their thing on the Grandest Stage.
