Randy Orton Recalls WWE Moment That Made Him Ask "Why Am I Here?"

Randy Orton will never forget wondering why he was even employed by WWE.

Randy Orton's appearance on 'Broken Skull Sessions' was another win for Steve Austin.

'Stone Cold' has this no-nonsense interview style that just works, and Orton responded well to his tough line of questioning throughout the near-two hour chat. At one point, Randy recalled meeting future Evolution stablemate Batista for the first time.

It scared the sh*t out of him.

Orton's father helped set up a tryout at Ohio Valley Wrestling for his boy, but Randy didn't know what to expect. He told Austin that he walked up to the facility, knocked hard on the door and raised his eyebrows when a hulking beast answered.

That was Batista - the guy had a shaved head and looked to weigh in excess of 330lbs. When he said a quick "hey", Randy looked nervously around. He said that he immediately thought, "Why am I here?".

Things got worse when trainer Danny Davis asked Orton to show him a dropkick during training. Randy barely scraped his co-worker's knee with the strike, and everyone shook their heads. The funny thing here is that Orton would go on to have one of the best dropkicks in the biz.
