2. AJ Styles

Let's rewind just 12 short months. If someone had come up to you then and told you that by summer 2016 AJ Styles would not only be signed to World Wrestling Entertainment, but that he would also have had three matches for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and a win over John Cena under his belt, you would refuse to believe them.

Even the biggest AJ Styles fans didn't think it was plausible this late in the day.

That is what is happening though, and AJ Styles has gone from being lowballed by WWE after leaving TNA to one of their most dependable top tier stars. It is likely that Styles will continue to feud with John Cena over the next couple of months, as the two are firmly past the 'heel beats Cena' part, allowing Cena to pick up three straight victories now.

All cynicism aside, AJ Styles has proved in just six months that he more than belongs in World Wrestling Entertainment. Here's hoping he gets a World Championship run in the company to boot.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
