12. Money In The Bank: Briefcase Boredom

This year's men's Money In The Bank ladder match was as enjoyable as ever, with a troupe of the company's most dazzling athletes busting their backsides to deliver an all-action spotfest typical of the stipulation. Death-defying dives, big bumps, an incredible AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura staredown, it ticked every box but one: the victor.

Unfortunately, WWE went with the least inspiring choice imaginable, crowning Baron Corbin this year's Mr. Money In The Bank. Even Dolph Ziggler would've made for a more exciting victor, but no: Vince McMahon's undying 'big man' fetish resurfaced, and SmackDown's most unegaging, unseasoned brawler was handed an unwarranted push towards the upper-card, though he was ultimately unsuccessful in becoming WWE Champion.

The sight of a performer as dull as Corbin celebrating the briefcase was a bum note in itself, but predictability was a problem too, as 'The Lone Wolf's' name was leaked as the winner prior to the event. This meant that Money In The Bank, much like the Royal Rumble, ended in resignation rather than jubilation, and Corbin is most fortunate that his victory's tedium was largely eclipsed by the quality of the match.
