Here’s a hard part about ranking these returns and debuts: a lot of them are incomplete at this stage, and it’s also tough to say many of them are “bad”. So, you end up with degrees of success.

In Giovanni Vinci’s case, if they just give him 15 minutes in a match with the likes of Butch or Sheamus, he’ll wow fans and become a bigger star overnight. But for now, he’s a cog in the wheel that is the reunited Imperium.

Vinci’s surprise arrival at Clash at the Castle was a great moment, bringing the popular NXT/NXT UK trio back together for the first time since April and giving us a stable that could be a solid upper midcard unit for a good while.

Vinci and Ludwig Kaiser had developed into an excellent tag team in NXT before Kaiser and Gunther were bumped up to SmackDown, and there’s no reason to think they won’t be again.
