The World’s Most Dangerous Man won the prestigious King of the Ring tournament at the height of the Attitude Era in 1998, but it’s tough to say it did anything for his WWF career.

After winning the crown, Ken Shamrock engaged in a couple middling feuds before winning the Intercontinental Championship four months later. Two months later, he won the WWF Tag Team Championship alongside the Big Boss Man, making him a rare dual champion. His IC title reign would end after four months, which was an eternity during the Attitude Era.

From there, Shamrock joined (ugh) The Union and feuded with the Corporate Ministry. He fought Steve Blackman and finally left WWF in late 1999 to rejoin the world of ultimate fighting.

While the KOTR crown didn’t do much for Shamrock, he was a double champion and notable character during one of the biggest boom periods in wrestling, so that’s at least something.
