Ranking Every Champion In WWE Right Now

6. Alberto Del Rio - WWE US Title

There€™s nothing inherently bad about Alberto Del Rio€™s run with the United States Title, but you have to admit there€™s a huge difference between Del Rio carrying the title as a representative of the mid-card, and John Cena€™s efforts in 2015. Cena carried the championship with pride, and treated it like a secondary major title in the industry, culminating in the US and WWE World Heavyweight Titles being unified at SummerSlam. Del Rio, on the other hand, has defended the title on two occasions since winning it back in October, if I€™m not mistaken, in stark contrast to John Cena€™s weekly open challenges. I don€™t want to compare the two too much, but you would have hoped, with the spectacular return that gave Del Rio the opportunity to win the strap in the first place, the man would€™ve been allowed to maintain the excitement surrounding the title when Cena won it. Alberto Del Rio has been in fantastic shape since he was re-hired, not that he was in dire need to buff up during his previous run, but as a champion, Del Rio should be more of a leader than a follower. The League of Nations is a good way to give Del Rio, Rusev, Barrett and Sheamus more screen-time, but when The Celtic Warrior is in the limelight the majority of the time, it makes the United States Championship look like little more than an accessory. That being said, Del Rio showed great passion in his promo with John Cena before defending the title against him on the final Raw of 2015, so hopefully this rivalry, regardless of who wins, will continue to make the US Title look like something worth fighting for.
