3. Sasha Banks

By the time Sasha Banks won the NXT Women's Championship, it felt somewhat as though the ship had begun to sail away. That she did so in a fatal four-way match lessened the sweetness somewhat, although at least it was the champion (Charlotte) that she defeated.

Sasha Banks did a better job than most at carrying herself like a champion. This has been true of The Boss on the main roster too, although the perception of her as a champion has been dulled somewhat by managing to successfully defend the championship a grand total of zero times. When Banks eventually gets a proper reign, she will own it.

Banks successfully defended her NXT Women's Championship against former champion Charlotte, Becky Lynch, and others, before dropping the title to Bayley in an absolute classic at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn in 2015. By this point Banks had already moved up to the WWE main roster, further indication that her title reign came a little too late.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
