Hulk Hogan's four-year run as WWE Champion was deemed necessary sacrifice for the WrestleMania IV buyrate, with Ted Dibiase set to win a tournament having bought the belt from Andre The Giant having also devised a scheme with an evil twin referee.

So over was Hogan, still, that all of this was deemed necessary, even with Andre at the centre. It worked out even better when the company went with Randy Savage as the eventual 'Show Of Shows' beneficiary too - the Mega Powers explosion began in tacit tones that very night, earning WrestleMania V one of the company's biggest ever paydays.
