Ranking Every WCW Champion In History - From Worst To Best
2. Sting
In Sting, on the other hand, we have a man who was well and truly WCW to the bone.
He was with the company right from day one, and remained there even until that final showing of Nitro where he fittingly closed out the show.
Before things turned so sour though, Sting had managed to win himself six WCW World Heavyweight Championships, the first of which arrived on Feb. 29, 1992, long before the days of the Russo-esque shenanigans and Fingerpokes of Doom that tarnished the WCW product.
Admittedly his reigns were noticeably shorter than the aforementioned Hogan’s (Stings six stints lasted a total of 250 days versus Hulk’s 1,177). But given that Sting was a WCW boy through and through, I think it’s only fair that he ranks ahead of the Hulkster in a list looking at the greatest world champions in the history of the company.
