Ranking Every WWE Championship Reign Of The 2020s So Far
1. Cody Rhodes (April 2024-April 2025)
The ending to WrestleMania XL has already entered into WWE legend. Cody Rhodes finishing the story and winning the title his father never won was pure wrestling magic. As soon as the confetti settled, however, fans' minds immediately turned to the question of what was next. Would Rhodes be any good as world champion?
The next 378 days were one of the most consistently great WWE Championship reigns in the title's history. Whether it was AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, Logan Paul, or Solo Sikoa, Cody had good-to-great matches and looked like a megastar each and every week.
As I said earlier, it is so hard to be a long-term babyface champion. Cody Rhodes absolutely smashed it. His blue-eyed optimism was a throwback to a simpler time in wrestling, but it's not like he wasn't afraid to go hard if he needed to. We all saw that match against Owens at the Rumble.
The only blot against this reign is the way it ended, in that god-awful John Cena match. Other than that, it was brilliant, and the rest of the 2020s are going to have a very hard time topping it.
