Money In The Bank Ranked

Three years before the Shield came to blows in the closing segment of the show, they walked into Money In The Bank with the Tag Team Championships and challenging for the briefcase. Reigns and Rollins defended their titles at the start of the night before Ambrose entered the ladder match for a World Heavyweight Championship match contract - during which, Ambrose was the most popular entrant

Also in that match, Fandango hit a sunset flip powerbomb on Wade Barrett off of a ladder, which was one of the only major spots in that bout. The action throughout the brawl was more of a focus than cheap spots and extravagant moments.

Unfortunately, this show was let down by the action in-between the two book-end ladder matches. Curtis Axel vs. The Miz was not an instant classic, with the nine-minute match feeling more like a filler whilst we waited for the main event.

Also, Ryback performed. The only reason that this match could be considered watchable is the presence of Chris Jericho - although even 'Y2J' could not save it.

The night thankfully circled back to ladder match action, with the WWE Championship match contract suspended above six of WWE's best. At one point, all six competitors were atop two ladders while fighting for the briefcase. The match was fantastic, with the result being unpredictable the entire way through.

Towards the culmination of the ladder match, Paul Heyman emerged, seemingly, to assist his client CM Punk and help him get back to the main event scene. However, Heyman turned on 'The Best In The World', slamming a ladder into his back and costing him the briefcase to the eventual winner, Randy Orton.

Both ladder matches were great spectacles, with Cena vs. Henry and The Shield vs. Usos also standing out. However, the lack of appeal from the rest of the card is what pulls 2013's edition down the rankings.
