Ranking Every WWE WrestleMania Main Event - From Worst To Best
45. Hulk Hogan vs King Kong Bundy (WrestleMania 2)
WWE is a stickler for celebrating its own history. Be it matches, personalities, or storylines, the company are pretty good at celebrating its legends of the past and anyone who has a place in the glittering history of the company. WrestleMania main events are entirely populated by these men and women. All of which is to beg the question, when did you last hear anybody mention the name King Kong Bundy?
The debut of WrestleMania makes headlines for obvious reasons, and WrestleMania 3 has Mania's first bona fide classic match with Steamboat and Savage's Intercontinental Championship, as well as Hogan slaying the Giant. Sandwiched in between these two legendary events is WrestleMania 2, a weird event that took place across three separate venues and was headlined by Hulk Hogan and King Kong Bundy in a Steel Cage Match in Los Angeles.
Hogan's ribs were injured by Bundy on the run-up to the event at the March 1st, 1986 edition of Saturday Night's Main Event, and so the whole encounter takes place at the pace of a sloth wearing concrete boots. Hogan eventually emerged victorious, climbing the cage after hitting the leg drop on Bundy.
