7. The Two Vinces Bring Down WCW
Wrestling fans love a revisionist take, where they'll try to score points by rewriting history in the name of pretending something was retrospectively much better or worse than it actually was. Even considering this fact, nobody tries to make a case for the final years of WCW being anything but a steaming hunk of turd.
But what if it was a purposeful demolition job, cooked up behind the scenes by Vince McMahon and Vince Russo to bring WCW down from the inside? The former WWE writer was given full creative control of WCW, overseeing such classics as David Arquette as World Heavyweight Champion, the Judy Bagwell on a Forklift match, and even booking himself as WCW World Champion.
The problem with this is that Vince Russo is a genuine maniac. Listen to his podcasts or any interview with him, and he seems to hate wrestling more than anyone who's ever worked inside the business. He's had multiple reigns in booking wrestling storylines, and they have been almost unanimously ass.
Sure, the two Vinces conspiring to bring down WCW is plausible, but it's far likelier that Russo's insanity and awful booking were to blame for the downfall of WCW.
