And speaking of Dave Meltzer's favorites.

Kenny Omega has made the 5-star rating system his absolute whipping boy this year. Granted, he did that last year as well with four matches over 5 stars, but this year, he's taken it to another level. To a handful of 5+ stars in the G1, to the unprecedented 7 stars he received in his title match, the "Best Bout Machine" is certainly earning his moniker in the eyes of Uncle Dave.

More than Meltzer, however, the Omega match that has caught the attention of most people recently is his G1 match against Tomohiro Ishii. Although the two had met in the past, Omega and "The Stone Pitbull" completely blew everyone away with a brutal, dangerous, and exciting spectacle. The cherry on top was Ishii getting a win over the IWGP Champion, giving him first dibs at his belt.

On September 15th at Destruction in Hiroshima, Ishii will finally get the huge main event fans have been saying he's deserved for years. With a 60 minute time limit and the belt on the line, we can only expect the greatest of star-making performances from both men.
