Ranking Top 10 WCW Main Eventers In WWE

4. Hulk Hogan

Hulk Hogan will always be thought of as a WWE/F guy first, but it was in WCW where he turned his career around and became a huge star again. Hogan left the WWF in 1993 after having disputes with Vince McMahon and seeing himself in a reduced role. It wasn't until 2002, when he finally came back home along with Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. It was surreal and exciting seeing him back against a whole new crop of guys to work with. Initially it was successful, a bit too successful, as WWE felt they were forced to turn him babyface due to the crowd's incredible reaction for him. Hulkamania was back.

The company wanted to strike while the iron was hot and quickly put the title back on him. The same company who was airing skits about him being too old six years prior was now pushing him as their top draw again. It didn't work out. Nostalgia only lasts so long, and Hogan physically couldn't keep up with the younger talent.

His entire run was largely just weird. He tried to reinvent himself with more of an edge as he battled guys like The Undertaker and Kurt Angle. Then he eventually turned into the embarrassing masked Mr. America, before another disagreement with Vince landed him out of the company. Over the next few years he had fun, but brief feuds with Shawn Michaels and Randy Orton before once again disappearing. After a terrible run in TNA, he returned to play an ambassador type role in WWE. It's a good gig for him to have, but so far, besides his WrestleMania 30 appearance with The Rock and Steve Austin, nothing of note has really good down. Hulkamania is running, but you wouldn't really say it's all that wild anymore.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
