We are just about reaching the point where these PPVs become palatable.

Randy Orton was at the peak of his career in 2009, and John Cena was in full 'Super Cena' mode as he made ‘The Viper’ submit to the STF despite being locked in handcuffs. The I Quit match from Breaking Point is the best of their many, many singles bouts over the years.

The submission stipulation theme trickled through the pay-per-view, with Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase beating Triple H and Shawn Michaels in a submissions count anywhere match, thanks to a really cool dual submission spot with 'HBK' wrapped around the ring post.

Christian retained against William Regal in one of the last matches of relevance for the ECW Championship, with the only major downside to the show coming with the copycat Montreal Screwjob finish to the eight-minute main event between CM Punk and The Undertaker.

It was worth a second instalment but WWE moved Night of Champions into its slot for 2010.
