REAL Reason Bill Goldberg Didn't Sign With AEW

Could there be another reason why Goldberg hasn't signed with AEW?

While Bill Goldberg recently ruled out joining AEW due to the promotion being "too cheesy", there may be another reason why Da Man has yet to become #AllElite.

Discussing this matter on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer suggested the reason Goldberg hasn't worked for AEW is down to Big Bill's asking price.

"My gut is that it's probably just his asking price must've been high. Tony Khan, last year, on multiple occasions, talked about how he's friends with Bill Goldberg. They'd been talking, you got the impression that he was gonna come in, but then he never did. Bill's asking price is very high, as we've seen. It's always been, and there's nothing wrong with that, but I dunno."

Meltzer and his co-host Bryan Alvarez also questioned Goldberg's "too cheesy" comments about the AEW product, noting some of the more "cheesy" elements of WCW during Bill's run there or some of the stuff he did during his spells with WWE over the years.

As alluded to by Meltzer, Tony Khan openly discussed his interest in Goldberg last year, with the four-time World Champion having become a free agent when WWE opted against renewing his contract at the end of 2022.

For his part, Goldberg has talked about wanting one final match under the right circumstances and for the right promotion, but seemingly that promotion won't be AEW.
