As reported by both Fightful and the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer at the time, Kevin Owens missed last week's WWE Raw taping, pulling himself from the Performance Center sessions in the wake of proceedings being held up by a positive test as part of WWE's measures to combat the ongoing global health crisis.

No confirmation of why Owens had elected to head home or when he'd be back were given at the time. Now, KO has spoken on the matter while appearing on last night's episode of The Bump.

“Due to the circumstances that happened over the last week there with the positive test that happened in the company, I thought it was just wiser for me to stay with my family on that day,” Owens said. There was no pushback from company officials and KO claims the promotion was "respectful of my decision."

A further two dozen WWE employees have since tested positive, including broadcaster Renee Young. WWE only started testing their full roster on the back of the employee Owens cites coming to light. This news could conceivably keep KO away from the Performance Center even longer, though this is yet to be confirmed.
